The Port of Shelton, a municipal corporation governed by a three member elected Commission, is established to enhance economic vitality and quality of life for the citizens of Shelton and Mason County by effectively managing and promoting the development of aviation, industrial, and waterfront properties.

The Port of Shelton has many benefits to offer a business, including its unrestricted air space, tax advantages and two Foreign Trade Zones. Water, electrical, power, gas and fire flow hydrants are available at all of the buildings and sites.

JOHNS PRAIRIE INDUSTRIAL PARK

Currently home to five wood-related businesses, the park is located ten minutes east of Highway 101. Truck and rail access are key features at this site.

SANDERSON FIELD INDUSTRIAL PARK

Located on Highway 101 just north of Shelton, this park houses over 25 businesses. The facility has roads, complete self-contained infrastructure, and available land for a variety of business activities at very competitive rates. New roads, water lines, and a water storage tank sufficient to meet local fire code building requirements were added in 1993. A new industrial park within Sanderson Field, named Business Park North, was started in 1997 and envisions eight new warehouse/office facilities at 5,000-7,000 square feet each. The first of these buildings is now available for lease, with the second being owned and operated by a local business.
