SheltonOld Time Fiddle Fest website
A chief fundraiser for SOCK, Shelton's annual Fiddlefest music extravaganza brings talented fiddlers and other musicians from across the nation to perform in a series of concerts every April at the Shelton High School Auditorium.  Friday and Saturday performances are joined by the Saturday spaghetti dinner. These are also fundraising events.

Matlock Old Timers Historical Fair
First full weekend in May
Every year, Matlock hosts the Old Timer's Fair at the Mary M. Knight School campus. Admission is free. Here you can find fun for the whole family. Enjoy live music, delicious food, interesting displays, a variety of crafts and the featured exhibit of an authentic Civil War-era military camp. See a reproduction of a mountain-man camp with Dutch-oven cooking, expert horse backpacking encampments and black-powder shooting demonstrations. Other attractions include kids train rides, FFA plant and starter vegetable sale, antique and classic cars, tractors and steam engines.

Bluegrass from the Forest website
This festival showcases the best in bluegrass music in a great indoor theater atmosphere.  A fundraiser produced in part by the Kristmas Town Kiwanis Club along with generous sponsorship from locally owned businesses. Proceeds go to support local community projects in Mason County.

Business Expo & Bite of Shelton website

Plan on attending this Chamber event you won't want to miss, the Business Expo & Bite of Shelton! This is a great showcase of our local businesses. The restaurants will also be selling their samples - so, be sure to come hungry!

Forest Festival website

For over sixty-five years Mason County has been proud to welcome friends, families, neighbors, and visitors from all over to celebrate forest traditions.  Events include a carnival, car show, family fun night, logging show, vendors and festival displays, live entertainment, fun run, and a parade.  

Mason County Historical Car Show
Last Sunday in June
The Mason County Historical Society and the Yesteryear Car Club present the annual Mason County Historical Car Show. The show, held on Railroad Avenue in downtown Shelton, hosts all makes and models of antiques, classic cars, rods, and motorcycles. Special events like raffles, music, a pie and ice cream social make this a fun, family-friendly event! For more information, contact the Mason County Historical Society at (360) 426-1020. 

July

Tahuya Day
First Saturday in July
The Tahuya Day and Parade is hosted each year by the town, celebrating their unique and quirky heritage. The event draws 1,500 to 2,000 people each year and is also the major fund-raiser for the Tahuya Community Club's North Mason High School scholarship fund. Proceeds from the miniature American flags and raffle tickets sold at the event go toward the $2,500 fund. The day includes lots of activities for kids, homemade arts & crafts booths, and live music by the North Mason's own community band, "The Windjammers."

Celebrate Hoodsport 
Fourth of July weekend
The Hoodsport Community Events Association and area merchants host the annual Celebrate Hoodsport Independence Day Event.  This two-day event features a Street Fair with over fifty vendors, live auction and an amazing fireworks display at the Hoodsport Marina.

Allyn Days website
Third weekend of July
The Allyn Community Association sponsors this event on the Allyn Waterfront Park. Allyn Days is a sumptuous weekend of live music and entertainment, more than 80 vendor booths and attractions. Events include an alder-smoked salmon dinner, an Oyster Roast, local crafters and art booths, a beer and wine garden, dancing under the gazebo, face painting, model boats, an Art Show, Hole-in-One and Oyster Shucking Contests and a special Chalk Art Tournament

Grapeview Water & Art Festival website
Last Saturday of July
Always the Last Saturday of July Hosted by the Grapeview Community Association, this festival boasts a large art show featuring pottery, sculpture, jewelry, glass, woodworking and photography. There is also wonderful food, golfing contests, lots of free activities for children, and live music!  This elegant festival is held at the Fair Harbor Marina on the Grapeview Loop Road

Mason Area Fair & Rodeo website
Last weekend in July
For over 100 years, the Mason Area Fair has been a gathering place for friends and neighbors to show off their best - from produce and animals to baked goods and artwork! The Fair includes a rodeo, a beer and wine garden, live entertainment, and tons of family-friendly activities.

Music in the Park

Squaxin Island First Salmon observance and Salmon Fest
The Squaxin Island Tribe hosts the First Salmon observance at Arcadia Boat Launch as well as a Salmon Fest at Little Creek Casino & Resort.

Tahuya Salmon Bake
Third Sunday of August
This event is the major fundraiser for Fire District 8 Firefighters Association and for the Tahuya Community Club. The Bake offers fresh-caught salmon, baked potatoes, coleslaw, pickled beets, garlic bread, cake, lemonade, iced tea and coffee.

Taste of Hood Canal website
Second Saturday of August
The North Mason Rotary Club is the proud sponsor of the annual Taste of Hood Canal in Belfair. The day’s events include a classic car show, beer and wine tastings, local restaurants, art and craft booths, family entertainment, live music, and local artists.

RAPSody website
This annual bicycle riders’ event supports statewide bicycle advocacy and education.  The 170-mile loop tours the scenic back roads and bike trails of five Washington counties and includes lots of rolling hills, water, and mountain views.  RAPSody in two days is challenging fun!  There is also a one day option to ride the entire course on Saturday.

Oysterfest website

The Annual West Coast Oyster Shucking Championship and Washington State Seafood Festival is hosted by the Shelton Skookum Rotary Club. The community festival boasts a more than 100 community partners, face painting, a beer and wine garden, live entertainment, and an Art and Photography Competition.

Pumpkin Fest website
All month-long, with special activities the last weekend
Unionʼs PumpkinFest is a month-long annual harvest festival and fall celebration culminating each year the last weekend of October. Events include pumpkin picking, hay mazes, wagon rides, and catapult contests at  at Hunter Farms; costume contests; cocktail parties; and other spooktacular events.

The Mason General Hospital Foundation hosts this fantastic holiday celebration, showcasing sparkling designer trees, live and silent auctions, gift shops, holiday bazaar, and evening entertainment. All proceeds benefit Mason General Hospital.

Christmas Torchlight Parade

The Shelton Yacht Club show a spectacular lighted boat parade, traveling Hammersley Inlet and Oakland Bay. This a great way to get in the holiday spirit!
