Annual Award Nominations

Again this year, the Shelton–Mason County Chamber is excited to recognize members of our community for their efforts. Any community member may submit a nomination. Nominations for the annual awards will be accepted until 5:00 PM on October 20, 2017. Nominations submitted after that time will not be considered.

You may submit one nomination per category. Please keep in mind that nominees will be evaluated on guidelines listed below; not every nominee will be included on the annual awards ballot.

Nomination Guidelines

Business Awards recognize the company that made the most significant contribution benefiting the Shelton and Mason County business community.  Any size business is eligible; recognition will be given overall contributions to improving our community and/or business climate.  This business must be a member in good standing of the Shelton-Mason County Chamber of Commerce and should be headquartered in Mason County. Evaluations may be made on the following criteria:

  • Leading with vision, inspiration, and integrity
  • Building partnerships
  • Succeeding through people
  • Nurturing creativity and innovation
  • Adding value for customers
  • Sponsorship/presentation of events or programs
  • Hours or services dedicated to community activities/efforts

Citizen of the Year recognizes an individual who has made outstanding contributions to enhance the business community and the community at large.  This person gives freely of their time, talent, energy and expertise. This person must either live or work in Mason County. Evaluations may be made on the following criteria:

  • Leading with vision, inspiration, and integrity
  • Building partnerships
  • Succeeding through people
  • Nurturing creativity and innovation
  • Contributions made to community activities/efforts
  • Involvement with special programs
  • Service to local non-profits or boards

Volunteer Awards recognize an individual who has largely contributed to the Chamber’s programs and activities. This is someone who has given their time, talent, energy and expertise in an effort to enhance the business community and the community at large.  This person must serve on one or more Chamber committees. Evaluations may be made on the following criteria:

  • Leading with vision, inspiration, and integrity
  • Building partnerships
  • Succeeding through people
  • Nurturing creativity and innovation
  • Participation on Chamber committees
  • Contributions to Chamber programs/events
