As your chamber works to accomplish these goals it wears many hats: economic developer and planner, tourist information center, business spokesperson, economic counselor and teacher, government relations specialist, human resources advisor and public relations practitioner.
Your chamber of commerce is run by its members whom elect a Board of Trustees that determines policies and sets goals. The Board’s elected President presides over the monthly board meetings.
Your chamber's everyday operations are handled by the executive director, a paid employee working jointly will the Board of Trustees and Chamber Committees to implement the Chamber's goals and mission.
Chamber committees are the most common method that individual members utilize to become actively involved in the Chamber. These committees focus on many subjects including economic development, education, human resources, conventions, tourism, public affairs and government relations.
