| Mild temperatures and ample rainfall provide Mason County with its characteristic year-round green hues. Rainfall averages 65 inches per year (down to 63 inches the last few years), with most precipitation occurring in the autumn and winter. Snow and freezing temperatures are rare, except in the mountains. Summer temperatures range from the low 70s to the 90s on occasion. Typically, shorts and shirtsleeves are a common sight throughout the months of July, August and September.
