Mason General Hospital

"Quality care" is Mason General Hospital. And if you are looking for a hospital that puts quality care first then you are at the right place!
When you first enter the licensed 68-bed facility you'll walk into a patient waiting area which overlooks a professionally landscaped outdoor courtyard, complete with a bronze statue entitled "Pumped."  From rhododendrons that are native to Washington, to turf lilies, you'll experience nature and solitude as you meander your way along the courtyard paths. You may also feel the warm sun on your face, hear the birds sing, and enjoy conversation with friends and family on a bench or at a picnic table.

This pleasant and professional ambiance is indicative of the overall quality of care available at MGH.

Mason General Hospital is one of the largest public employers in Mason County.  It was first built in 1968 thanks to the generous support of the residents of Mason County.  An additional 29,000 square feet were added in 1992, along with many major improvements.  The hospital is part of the Public Hospital District No.1 of Mason County which also includes Oakland Bay Pediatrics and the North Mason Medical Clinic, Belfair.  These combined, have given the theme, "Quality Care...in our own hometown," added reach.

MGH is a complete, full-service medical facility which includes an emergency department that is staffed by board qualified/certified emergency services physicians and an intensive care unit that extends privacy to the most critical patients. Three major surgery suites are complemented by two procedure rooms and an extensive laprascopic surgery program.

Other services include physical therapy, respiratory therapy, outpatient surgery, diagnostic imaging (including CT Scan, ultrasound, fluoroscope, nuclear medicine, echocardiogram),   a modern full-service laboratory, labor and delivery (with private birthing suites), continuing education for staff, physicians and community, diabetes education, private patient rooms and public meeting rooms.

Coupled with more than 100 physicians (active, courtesy, consulting) on staff, in 21 specialties, MGH has positioned itself to be the pride of the area.  It has more than 350 employees and 100 volunteers waiting to care for the community.  The staff, physicians and physical plant are highly regarded throughout the state.  MGH is known industry wide as one of the top rural hospitals in the region.

Despite the negative-growth trends in other hospitals, MGH's admissions, surgeries, births and emergency room visits continue to increase. This reflects the population growth  in the county, the recognition of the quality of care delivered  at MGH, the increase in the different specialties available and the hospital's added capabilities.

Many support groups are available free of charge to the public and free physician referral is also available by calling MGH at (360) 427-9551.

The combination of highly qualified and sophisticated clinical care and personal touch help to make MGH the special hospital it is today. MGH has many wonderful qualities to offer patients, family members, visitors, employees and physicians. Private and public tours are available with a simple phone call to MGH. As you tour the facility, you'll see why MGH is "Quality care...in our own hometown."
